SOLD
Browning Medalist
22 Long Rifle
SN: 103975T8
Original Model
6.75" Barrel
Blue
Mfg: 1968
MADE IN BELGIUM (By FN for Browning)
The serial number identifies this is as one of the Original Models before any updates / modifications.
It has all the weights, screwdriver, ammo block and the coveted original factory keys to the box lock
Condition:
It appears to have never been fired
The pistol is in Pristine Condition
The Wood has Phenomenal Grain
The Presentation Case does show some minor shelf ware from being in storage.
Note: At the rear of the left side of the slide are 3 vertical "Proof Stamps" not any kind of blemish.
Pistol Information:
I know the person I got this pistol from. He said he put it into his safe and never fired it.
He also said the prior owner told him this was a presentation gift and was placed in a safe and never shot.
I have no reason to question this information.
I have done the following:
- I have not racked the slide for fear of scratching it
- The brass presentation plaque was not on the box when I received it. I had a blank presentation plaque made to match the original factory one, it has the clear protective plastic covering customary on un-engraved plaques.
- I used Lexol Leather Cleaner & Lexol Leather Conditioner to clean off surface dust and protect the Leatherette.
- The Leatherette is worn on all 4 corners. I used a special commercial magic marker to touch up the corners.
- The top of the box appears to have had another box placed on it and has some wear of the sharp detail to the Leatherette
I have included a photo of the muzzle which is an indicator for me that it has not been fired.
I have included a photo of one of the box corners for your review. All 4 corners had about the same amount of ware.
If you would like additional photos please email me and I will attach them and return your email.
As many of you know I am not a true collector, I am a shooter.
I dearly appreciate collector firearms and have come across several over the past 2 years which I have offered to Forum Members who were very happy to get them. I took this pistol in trade thinking a true collector would really like to have it.
I know little about Collectable Browning firearm's values.
On line I found only a few values with a similar condition and history. The value range was rather wide, much like S&W firearms.
Based on my trade and the values I found online I would like $1450 for this pistol plus $35 shipping.
If anyone has knowledge that this pistol has a different fair value, higher or lower, please send me a PM.
I would like to thank "browningcollector" for his input regarding the value of this pistol. He advised me my price is appropriate.
I assume this qualifies for transfer to a C&R FFL Holder. My FFL guy has no problem shipping to a C&R FFL Holder if the pistol does qualify. I have not checked with him yet to verify it qualifies.
Pics include close up of corner.
