Face To Face sale in Oklahoma only
I have for sale a circa 1977 Smith & Wesson .38 Chiefs Special Model 36-1 revolver with box and papers. This gun has a pinned 3" barrel, 5-round capacity, case-hardened trigger, and case-hardened exposed hammer with single or double action. It has a grooved rear sight and a ramped fixed blade front sight. It features a bright shiny nickel finish and has wood grips with serial numbers that match the square butt frame.
This gun also comes with what is shown in the accessories picture including the original matching box with serial number and details on the label on the end of the box, assorted paperwork, picture the original owner took by camera of his gun and wrote the serial number and other information on the back, and a faded receipt that looks like he paid $196.95 for it new.
The included S&W bore brush tool and protective paper are period applicable but not original to this gun, as the bore brush that came with the gun was used after the gun was first shot by the original owner and put away from the gun so it wouldn't scratch the beautiful finish. The original S&W protective paper was put with the brush because the gun was stored after its initial firing and cleaning in a lined gun rug. The brush and paper ended up separated from the gun and box and were never found.
This forty-two year old classic revolver is in excellent condition. The only items I could find were a couple of very small places on the grips that look to be just from moving and storing the gun over its lifetime. I could not find a way to capture them in any of the pictures I took and might have to point them out for you to see them.
$575 and must be able to complete at this time a local face-to-face cash sale. Buyer must be at least 21, Oklahoma resident able to legally buy a firearm in Oklahoma, and must have a current valid Oklahoma issued picture ID. No exceptions."
I have other pics available for the asking, so contact me if you would like to see them or have any questions.
Thanks!
