Little outside the norm for the S&W board but hopefully someone appreciates ridiculous endeavors as much as I do...

Available today is a highly customized Rock Island Tac 1911 chambered in .45 ACP (full rail, single stack model). I'd built this specifically for shooting IDPA's CDP division; my intent was to build as cheater-y of a gun as possible so I went with a heavy frame and then had Gary at Gans Enterprise lighten the slide by tri-topping, windowing, and porting it. The slide was refinished in rose gold titanium nitride by Brazen Firearms, who also refinished the barrel in carbon/black TiN, and is topped off with a Kensight LoMount adjustable rear and Dawson fiber optic front sight. It fits in the CDP box as-is and is 42.9 oz exactly with the factory mag. The gun is re-sprung with a Wilson Combat sear spring, a Klonimus 14lb recoil spring, and Wolff 20lb hammer spring, extra power firing pin spring, and light mag catch spring. The end result is a trigger that's just under 4 lbs and very crisp (though still has a bit of pre-travel that can be tuned out). The gun is sporting Coolhand G10 grips and rainbow PVD grip screws. I'll include a pair of Wilson magazines with Dawson basepads (along with the factory magazine) and an OWB kydex holster, as well as all factory components (springs, sights, grips, etc).

This is a very low round-count gun and has seen exactly one match (probably between 500-1000 rounds of my 230gr handloads in total). The only finish wear to speak of is on the inner edge of the grip safety (caused by swinging back and forth). A full component breakdown is below but I'm conservatively into the project for $1300+. I'm looking for $750 (PP F&F) and I'll pay for shipping to your FFL (within CONUS and where legal). Please feel free to ask me any questions and thanks for taking a look!

  • RIA Tac Standard 1911 (single stack, full rail, parkerized finish) - Street price for these seems to be about $560 at the moment
  • Slide tri-topped, windowed, and ported by Gans Enterprise - $350
  • Slide, barrel, and mag release refinished in TiN by Brazen Firearms - $130
  • Kensight LoMount adjustable rear sight and Dawson fiber optic front - $105
  • Coolhand grips, rainbow PVD grip screws - $40
  • (2x) Wilson Combat magazines with Dawson screw-on baseplates - $65
  • OWB kydex holster (right hand) - $35
  • Also included are the factory internals, recoil spring, fixed rear sight, grips, factory mag (this will need to be modified to work with the magwell), hard case, paperwork, etc
