Up for sale is a very clean, S&W 25-2 Model of 1955 chambered in 45 auto. (ACP or Auto Rim). Target Trigger, Hammer and Diamond Target grips. Serial number S284xxx (1967?)
It is all original as far as I can tell, and comes with the original box, instruction page, consumer portion of the warranty card (hand written note "Mailed Oct. 21, 1967), tools, original vapor paper, and two half-moon clips.
I have not fired this gun, but the action is incredibly smooth, timing and lock up are incredible. Very faint signs of firing above forcing cone on underside of top strap- no torch line through finish; what is there could probably be cleaned off.
This one is really clean with little signs of use; mostly 'storage wear' than anything. It's not mint or museum quality, but a very nice example. Other items worth mentioning:
-There is a very minor turn line on the cylinder
-There is a very tiny chip on the left side of the barrel to the left of the S&W roll mark- it is circled in yellow in the picture.
-I believe the Diamond Target grips to be original to the gun- black washer, some numbers ink stamped faintly on inside of one grip (can send you pics if you would like) that don't seem to correlate to any of the numbers on the gun. That being said, I have no reason to believe these are not the grips that it left the factory with though.
-Box has light wear and tear from storage and handling over the last 50+yrs. but is solid/firm.
