SOLD ON ANOTHER FORUM

I am probably making a mistake here, but this piece has been sitting for years and I have too many irons in the fire and need to thin the herd.

I was heavy into PPC some years ago and workload made it difficult to train and attend matches which were not close.

I already had a Bob Jones tuned 686 but wanted a back up gun, so I started looking for another Lframe.

For months on Gunbroker (2012), there was a 586 No Dash 4" for sale and price was decent, however it had 3 slight issues.

The owner (proally the original) scribed their initials and SS# in the side plate, and the SS# in the cylinder and under the trigger guard.

I finally bit the bullet and said the scribes won't bother me. I got it and I call this piece a sock drawer gun. It appeared bone stock and hardly been shot.

So, I had it for a while and started looking for a gunsmith. A PPC shooter buddy suggested I contact Jerry Eason. That was in 2014 and I sent him a document and the gun. When done, this came back with the gun.

The action on the gun can only be described and probably one of the smooooothest trigger press with perfect timing. I took this gun to a few matches (25 yard matches) but this gun was designated as a back up to my Bob Jones 686.

Those scribes started to bother me. I had stoned them off the cylinder and trigger guard, but I side plate was too much for me. I looked for help and chose Ford's Refinishing in Florida in 2017.

They had the gun for a while. During that time frame, the area I live in went through a hurricane and Ford's experienced Hurricane Irma. I don't know why I went for pimping Master blue, which is their polished blue for a shooter, but I did.

I might have shot the 586 for another match or two but it's been sitting for many years, and I need to let this go.

This gun was tuned for NRA Stock Service Revolver matches. It has a tall front sight and read blade for 50 yard shooting on a B27 target (neck hold), smooth DA and clean break SA. Jerry did his magic on the gun per paperwork. If there is one issue going away from the NRA Stock Service Revolver Rules, this gun has chamfered cylinders which is not allowed in other competitions. You would have to find another cylinder and get it fitted.

I do not recall what grips came with this 586 but it was not wood. Possibly pacs and I used some old Bill Davis grips that were borrowed from the 686.

I dug up some rough factory Targets that I bought for a project that I never started. The open cyl side stock has small missing piece toward the bottom, and the other side center appears flattened. They appear refinished and other that looks they feel like big ol Targets to me.

I loaded all the ammo I shot in this gun with Federal Primers. If you get misfires, might need to do the following.
*change out the strain screw.
*or put a spent primer over the strain screw end. small pistol primer fits over the strain screw and if memory serves me right, a larger pistol primer fits over a small pistol primer.
