S&W introduced a few interesting things at this years SHOT show. One is the new, tiny 1911PSc.

This little guy was light weight and felt good in my hand. This is one of the Pro series firearms from Smith & Wesson.

The NEW 1911 chambered for 9MM caught my eye as well.

The firearm had a good fit and finish and was quite attractive. The most interesting thing was that the grips have palm swells. Kind of like Cokes.

The wood palm-swell grips sure look a lot like Roco Firearm Technology grips. They are in the Brownells catalog, page 166. I have a pair on a Sig 220. They do have palm-swells, and they are great.

colt_saa - How many rounds in that 3" 1911?

Looks like maybe 6+1. Is it Melonite finish? That is a new S&W I'm going to buy. Thanks! Regards 18DAI.

If it accepts the same mags as the Officer and Ultra Kimber, Wilson's mags can get you one more in the stick. I run them in a CDP Ultra

As I said before regarding the 9mm 1911, just what I needed - another handgun to lust after. (Must - buy - long guns - first.)

OMG, a 1911 S&W in 9mm.

NICE! I wonder how it will compare to the 9mm 952 regarding tolerances, fit, feel, etc.

Hmmm... $1264 MSRP on the 3" 1911. I will have to wait for a lightly used example.

Is it a PC produced 1911? Did I miss the PC logo? Regards 18DAI.

Both SIG and S&W have released auto loaders specifically for Simunitions and another that can not fire. The non-firing unit can be used in training scenarios as well as holster practice with no fear of a possible accidental discharge. There frames and slides make their purpose highly visible to all.

It is one of the PRO Series guns. These are production guns with some of the PC treatment. And do not forget that nobody buys anything for MSRP. MSRP on some of those PC 1911s is 2k.

No you didn't. I have a 952 and I was just wondering if "the new" 9mm 1911 would come close to a PC model in any way. Probably not.

Thank you colt_saa, for taking time to post the photos and information here for us! Regards 18DAI.

The M&P45 has been out with a thumb safety for a while. Now they are supposed to have the thumb safety for the M&P9 & M&P40.

The makers are finally catching on to the interest in 1911 pattern 9mms. Of course they are a few years behind the curve, 9mm is no longer cheap enough to warrant buying a gun for $3.87 Blazer at Academy. I agree, a 1911ish .40 seems logical.

I like the meaty extractors. they just look tuffer than the 9mm thin looking ones.

I think it is extremely interesting that the PC uses a wider extractor than the standard models. Maybe somebody there was listening to Hilton Yam.
