Some items of interest....Cuffs, Saps, Blackjack, Brass knuckles

Started in 78. I carried this sap for several years. Wooden baton was in the station for years. Doesn't look used much but has to be 50-60's ? Maybe earlier?

I also found this Truncheon made by McNaughton Glasgow that I been told is of the Victorian era.....I sent photos over to a fellow across the pond and his response was as follows:

"If yours has 'VR' (Victoria Regina) it would have been made during her 63 years reign (20 June 1837 until her death in 1901)."

I'm pretty sure my sap saved my life oh, forty years ago. Been retired more than twenty years and have no idea what happened to it. Still have my Peerless cuffs.

Now the big question. How many of you geezer LEO's remember the claw?

You may find "page holders" on a popular site that starts with the letter E.

I love the photos of the blackjacks. They look great.

Here's the blackjack my grandfather used to carry. He walked a beat with the Chicago Police in the 1930s through the 1950s. I looks like he used it a time or two.

When I was with the North Carolina SBI, a supervisor gave me a "blackjack". Shortly after that they were outlawed in the SBI. I still have it and a pair of brass knucks. I don.t remember where they came from.
