I was heading down US1 to Ormond Beach today. Dude pulled right out in front of me, I was doing 55 MPH. If there had been a car in the left lane he would possibly been killed or hurt most bad.

I know bikes can be hard to see, but a Tacoma with running light? I had to edit it short due to the foul language that started.

Holding a CDL for 52 years and over 2 million miles I came to certain conclusions. One being you can never tell anyone how to drive or shoot. They scream at the top of their lungs that they have been doing it all their lives and how dare you question their abilities. My grandfather blew a fuse when his children took his driver's license away for safety reason. He never stopped at a stop sign or traffic light in his little town. He said he was never in an accident. He created many though.

My mother-in-law is a horrible driver. She can barely walk, can't see, can't hear, and can't understand much of what is going on around her - but according to the state she is perfectly fine to drive here in Florida!

I always say that she will never get hurt in an auto accident - because she drives too slowly to ever be injured. However, there will undoubtedly be a trail of death and destruction left in her wake. I dread the day we get the inevitable phone call from the Florida Highway Patrol...

I've tried to do something about this situation, but as an in-law I have very limited resources, and her kids (my wife included) refuse to act.

Do you always drive with a dash cam? I am curious as I have thought about doing it also.

Kevin

Always! You see the darnedest things.

I know exactly what you're saying. Utah is listed as having the worst drivers in the entire United States. I believe it. I mean when you see 12-year old kids on our rural roads driving the old man's John Deere 5100, what do you expect? That's how a good percentage of our young people here in the country learn to drive.

Then you throw a few crazies into the mix, and you have a real problem.

Come to Colorado. It has gotten horrible around here. Not sure what states they come from but they are bad. Toss in some snow and it is 10X worse.

No wonder insurance is soooooo high here. Between the out of state people that recently moved here and the pot smokers. Makes me want to get a tank.

Some don't care about the law, nor the signs, or courtesy. Nearly all intersections in my neighborhood are 4-way stops. First one to the intersection goes first. If facing a driver in the same intersection, the one turning right has the right of way. Seems simple. Yesterday I was less than 100 feet out of my driveway, stopped at the intersection to turn left, and the driver coming on the right hand street blew through the stop sign and cut me off, headed the same direction as I was turning. Makes me wish I could pull up tire spikes with an app on my phone.

Did you call in the first guy?

In the second video I see the emergency vehicle strobes did their job in jamming up your view.

We have very high insurance rates in Southern Nevada, too. Turns out most motoring cases are plead down to parking offenses to try and keep our inadequate court system moving. You may guess how much this waters down the deterrence factor.

Yep, but they told me not to follow him.

I'll never understand why the cop was off on the right emergency lane when there was a car blocking the far left lane. I was in the middle lane to begin with and went to the left lane to get as much distance as possible.

He could have pulled in behind the car in the left lane, it was a long straight stretch of road, everyone would have seen him and merged right.

I hope your insurance isn't as high as mine. I've never been in a wreck that was my fault, and have zero tickets on my record. Paying $315.49 a month on a 2018 Tacoma and 2019 Rav4. I do have really good coverage thou.

Ouch! I think I paid $3700 for the year on our 3-vehcile stable. I'm told the zip code lottery is such that I could move across the Vegas Valley and pay 20% less.

Some nitwit behind me started blaring his horn at me because I wouldn't run down the pedestrian in the crosswalk. Well, he was a nitwit too - he was crossing against the light. And just waddling along as slow as can be. It was only 3 degrees, I thought he would have been moving a little quicker.

Years ago I told my Dad I didnt care that he injuries or kills himself, I was more worried what would happen to others. He stopped driving at night! Few years later he stopped for good. Friend of mines mother is 102 still driving if absolutely nec. State of Illinois drivers tester said she drives better than everyone she sees.
