Some Photos from the NYPD Outdoor Range

What Precinct were you?

I am Originally from Murray Hill - 37th and 2nd.

My dad ran PJ Clarkes for 35 years - one of his best friends was a Detective named Charlie Kelly. Maybe you knew Charlie?

I live in CT now.

P.J. Clarkes was my dads favorite saloon. He took me there a couple of times when I was a kid. Great burgers and even better the Veal Marsala with home fries on the side.

Cirrilo and has team reloaded their own hollow point ammo, which was totally against guidelines. They didn't care, and neither did the brass as long as the squad brought results

And when their rep got too hot, the job killed the unit. Bowing to PC idiots who would rather the robber got a pass.

Exactly correct. Virtually all the robbers that unit shot were black. But no one considered the fact that it was the robbers that were the ones initiating the crime, it was not the police compelling them to commit the robbery!!

Jim and I only got to know each other after we left the NYPD. He sent me one of his books, I sent him one of mine. He was gracious enough to sign his copy to me:

Correct me if I'm wrong but do I remember that a part of the range had a concrete surface to simulate street conditions ? I was there circa 1965-66 as a Prob-ie I remember an instructor took a new guys gun from the box and loaded it with 6 rounds cocked the trigger and flung it about 15 yards away onto a grass surface and said "Don't ever tell anyone you dropped your revolver and it went off....It Can't happen."(made a big impression)
