Annual family trip down to Galveston is this week end!:D In fact, we should arrive about the same time as tropical storm/ hurricane Alex!:o Oh well, we will make do! I will be hunting a place to shoot. Im not much on the indoor ranges, but beggers can't be choosers!;) Either way, if you have a spot you wouldn't mind sharing with me, please do. If you prefer not to brodcast your "honey hole" you can send me a msg. I usually try to leave no foot prints & I always leave with more trash than I brought in. If you suggest private property, Im gonna need more than "some guy online said I could":) Open to any & all suggestions! Thanks!

You're looking for an outdoor range to go shooting during a hurricane???
Y'all Texans sure are as tough as I've heard!!!
Be sure to take a stainless steel (or plastic - yuck) gun.

lol..they are predicting a cat 1 if it developes into a hurricane. That can be bad, but its more like a bad storm than what most think of when they think of hurricanes! Cat 4 or 5 & you wouldn't be able to get into the city. As soon as it passes, barring futher developments, it will just be wet out side. But I will be glad to represent the "TEXAN" reputation!:D By the way, I never liked the Blackhawks. I loved to hate Chelious! I use to be a huge Stars fan when they first came to TX but I don't follow it as much now. With that being said, I was pulling for you guys!:) Congrats on your boys winning the most prestidigious trophy in pro sports!!!

That's cool - I never liked Texas - However, there are several Texans that I do like :)

Congrats on your boys winning the most prestidigious trophy in pro sports!!!
Thanks - Now for the Cubs

This might be some help.

Marksman Indoor Range

You might also try the Clear Lake Gun Range. It's in League City, on FM1226 I think. The phone is 281 337 1722. This is a outdoor range.

There is also a new range opening just south of League City at 3270 Gulf Fwy. It's indoor. Is a combination gun store and range, with 15 lanes. It called the Arms Room and the number is 281 332 0706. Last I heard, they were going to open around the 4th.

Going to be a wet few days around here, even if Alex goes into Mexico as forcast.

Oh yes the Arms Room! I have been to the old location over on FM518 & Landing Blvd. I knew they were opening the indoor range but it slipped my mind. Isn't the new one in the old Circuit City building close to the Target? I'll try to give them a call to get exact opening date. That would be real sweet to catch a grand opening!

As for Clear Lake Gun Range, have you been to it before?
Where is it? I'm having trouble locating FM1226.

Thanks for your help Charles!

I recently moved back near dallas after 12yrs on Galveston Island. I always shot at Texas city municipal range. Very short ride from the Island, As a matter of fact, My annual membership is still good through august. Just to far to drive to just make a range trip.

It is an outdoor range with a pistol area to 25yds, and rifle area to 100yds. Covered shooting lane with benches, And no membership required. You just pay a per gun fee for the number of guns you will be shooting. They have range officers and called cease fires to go downrange and change targets or distances. Just bring your own ammo cause they don't sell any.

I went to thier web site. It looks pretty nice I may run by there.

Thanks Bayfisher!

This is what happens when you get old and rely on your memory...it's FM 1266, just a little south of Main St.

It's been several years since I've been there (the last time was for a demonstration of the then new and unknown Glock 17, what ever that year was), but some of the people I shoot with at PSC in Friendswood shoot there every so often.

Cool!
No problem, I can identify with you!

Thanks for the help!
