It's not a bad idea if one lives in a state that allows crossbows for archery season (as an increasing number do). CMMG is supposed to have coming out (or already out, I didn't really keep track) a .50 caliber muzzle loading upper for ARs as well. That'd do for ML season. Now all we need are some shotgun uppers and the AR will possibly answer the "What's the best hunting rifle for everything" question.

Though I think I'll buy the chainsaw bayonet first.

They have let us start using crossbows for archery season down here in Louisiana they shoot a bolt around 325fps-that's a football field plus an endzone in just a hair over a second-I'm in for one

Well why not! People already hang so much garbage on their AR's that they look like they a mobile junk yard. I half expect to see a targeting radar system, surface-to-air missiles, torpedoes and depth charges on the latest "tactical" model AR.

I wasn't kidding about the chainsaw bayonet - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ljd_hUxCfI .

Depth charges... I wish. Finally be a way to get rid of those pesky Canadian Frogmen who infiltrate to steal my blood at night.

And I thought AR's had problems with fouling before...
