I had to take my wife to Tucson yesterday for a Dr's appointment so to kill time I went and hit some gunshops. Big mistake.

I was aware of the new Smith 327WR via an email from Smith so they were kind of on my radar, but I figured what was the chance of actually stumbling across one. Second shop I went into had one on the shelf, stupid money but it came home with me.

After stripping, cleaning and a set of Hogue fingergroove stocks I had laying around.

I have a thing for quick shooting DA revo's and this checked all the boxes. After inspection it does seem that this is what a PC revolver should be, I would say that these do get some extra attention at the factory, I can find no flaws of any kind. It even had lubrication when I popped the sideplate off, first Smith I've bought in years that wasn't bone dry inside!

I'll see how it shoots before too long but I'm pretty optimistic from my initial inspection that it will be alright. This is my first scandium gun and i like what I've seen so far.

Got to say that’s the first Smith I’ve seen in a long time that excites me. I might even be able to overlook the lock.

I didn't pay full retail but it was still right up there. From what I can see it is a cut above the usual PC guns.

I wasn’t trying to be critical of your purchase but was surprised when I checked the price. It’s certainly a beautiful piece of metal that I would have high expectations of and would certainly enjoy. I spent quite a bit more on two custom built pistols a few years ago and understand why someone would pay a premium. There’s a great deal of enjoyment that comes from fine guns.

Enjoy your new Smith.

That's a sweet package, and I'm sure that the Scandium frame and 9mm ought to be a great and comfortable combination! Hopefully you didn't have to take the wife back to the Dr. after she heard that you paid $3K for that set. Put it to good use, and enjoy!

My LGS has one in the case. I’ve refrained from looking at it as I can be weak….

The sticker was $2800 on that one.

Very nice OP!

lol
I, too, have impulsive tendencies. Was recently working in Munich, Marienplatz when I spotted a Rolex dealer. yada yada yada. I now have two Submariners. Woke up that morning with absolutely no plan to buy another Rolex, but...
