Newest Sgt. 1st class in the Army. Looks like he's going back to Gitmo for another year pretty soon. He and I are bothe Lifetime NRA members, only difference is he can still hit what he's aiming at.

Pass on my congrats and thanks for his service.

Finally, his stresk of bad luck ended last fall. There's a mandatory class one must take in order to get this promotion, and it's only offered once a year. For three years he was unable to take it, twice deployed, once because he fell off a ladder and was not able to attend the class. I believe he was E6 for eight years!

Congrats on your son's accomplishment, E-7 is a major milestone in a military career. Thank him for his service during really trying times. The best of luck to you both.

Sounds like NCO Advanced Course. Can be tough to get to the course if you are stuck in a desert. (I hate desert) Congrats on the new stripe.

Congratulations on E-7.....................:)

I did that years ago and it only took me 20 years to get there!! :(

Congratulations for a job well done. As a retired LtCol I learned early in my career that NCOs are the backbone of the services. NCOs saved my bacon more than once and in more ways than one.

You passed the values

He's a reflection of how you raised him-We are so very fortunate to have these citizens among us-and there are so few-
