Yep. I remember this one. 
I started my state law enforcement career in the NJ Highway Patrol (right-hand patch). It was merged into the NJ State Police as the Highway Patrol Bureau in 1979 (left-hand patch). In 1984, the NJ Highway Patrol entered the history books when it was disbanded and we remaining members were sworn in as Troopers in the NJ State Police (bottom patch).
