Good on ya! I, too, will be getting a new M&P. The Shield, in 9mm. I've been looking for a couple of months now. Got over the last hurdle, today, when I eliminated the last of the Shield competitors.
The LGS had 2 new Ruger LC9s pistols. Supposed to have a really good trigger. Nope! Neither one of them was "good". Too much take-up. Not real clean. Pull weight was OK. Lot of over travel. The reset was really long. All the way back to where the take-up stopped.
I've tried 2 different Shields in the same store, and both of them had better triggers than did either of the LC9s guns.
So, I have all of my research done. I know which gun, which holster, which belt, which reloading dies, and which reloading components. Should be a fun week buying all of this new stuff. :D

Welcome to the "club". I have 3 M&Ps (all 9mm) and enjoy each of them.

Post some pics and a range report once you get it.

tattoo You do know the new sear used in the pro and core offers a lighter trigger pull from a regular m&p. The sear may not but needed or wanted. Striker block change yes, trigger for range !! maybe, but not for defense

Thanks all....just paid for & ordered the m&p 40 performance center 4.24 I dont know if the parts are good enough for 3 gun or if i will swap for apex

Tattoo,
I think you will find that you will like the gun more with Apex parts in it for competition. On all our competition M&P's I have the FSS kits installed. Two of them have the polymer trigger and one has the aluminum trigger. I totally prefer the polymer trigger. So much easier to install. Our 2 Pro's and 1 CORE now have a trigger pull from 2.5 lbs to 3 lbs. with the FSS kit installed.

I'd suggest trying the stock trigger in 3 gun before replacing parts. I have Apex in my USPSA and Steel Challenge guns but not sure if I'd want them in 3 gun. I haven't handled one of the new ported M&P's but am curious. :D

Thanks for the info....but why do you say that ?

I did order the Apex competition kit 3lb spring & their aluminum trigger .....if it is too much for 3 gun ill just run my FNS

Picked her up today & put 100 or so rounds through her....sweet gun out of the box
