Sorry S&W

This week I added a blued, full underluged 4 inch GP100 to the collection. Of course with every revolver purchase I make be it a new or a used revolver it goes straight to my gunsmith for polishing of the cylinder catch and any of the internals that need it. In other words a trigger job. Yes I do this on new guns simply because QC is not what it used to be, a fact we all know to well.

Like the M&P40 VTAC I bought last month. Not only is the trigger rough
( speaking in a polite manner) but it sounds like a bunch of BB's in a beer can on a paint can shaker. Pure garbage. I expected better from S&W. The M&P40 is now in the hands of a quality gunsmith who I know will correct S&W's screwup. Yes it will cost me some cash but I know it will be a better gun then when it left S&W. To say the least I'm more than disappointed in S&W as I expect better.

I hate to say it but this Ruger ROCKS and I can't wait to buy another.

You say that Ruger is a ROCK? Yeah, they are kinda big, heavy and clunky, ain't they?

enjoy your new ruger ,i have a few of those as well, the single actions are fine but the 2 year old sp 101 is on its way to gunsmith to correct a timing/stiff cylinder rotation problem. i have a 1 year old 629 that is darn near perfect out of the box very smooth and accurate.
im not sure i agree that s&w is producing junk now, i dont know much about the m&ps but the revolvers are much better made now than they were 30 years ago.( based on examples ive experience with).

I've had my GP-100 since 1986. It's never been to a gunsmith, except for a custom front sight. They're great guns....I like the rubber grips, with wood inserts, that came on my gun. I changed them out for elk stag inserts from Patrick Grashorn. I can't stand the look of the big, ugly, grips that I see on the new GPs. Maybe they work good, but so do mine, and they look way classier. Just my opinion, of course.
