Coulda, and shoulda. But my "official" Field Pistol Any Sight entry was a Dave Chaney Memorial, using his 25-20 Contender. Not many rounds out of it, yet, but shot 40/60, which was good enough for a shoot-off for the FPAS title. Came up one short to the match director, so happy about that. The stupid part is the 629-6 "High Rise" that I shot as a re-entry managed a 42/60, which would have taken the win.

The rather more astonishing result was a 42/60 in Field Pistol (iron sights) using the 29-3 10 5/8" revolver. Completely blew it on Rams, managing only 4 of 15. (Did hit one more solidly, but it decided not to go down!!!!) So most of that entry was outstanding. The winner shot a 45/60, using a Contender in .22 Hornet.

Very cool, windy, and often rainy three days of shooting. But folk were having a good time, and we had a good post-match dinner with door prizes.

The 629-6 with the new scope. Hasn't helped scores at all, upgrading from the used pawn shop $39.95 Simmons scope!

Still chugging along. But about time to clean the outside.

May or March???

Our two Field Pistol Champions on the Smallbore line.

Returning from a target painting session. Rare sunny period:

Man I missed being with y'all Sat. I woke up to a wrenched out back and didn't think it wise to mix guns & painkillers! Considering the weather conditions and steady winds I'd say you did quite well. The iron sights on the Silhouette 29 seemed to work out good for you.
We'll try again next month!!!

Sad that you were unable to attend!

Eyes seemed to give out on Rams. Or something! Could have had a leg into International FP ranking with three more downed critters.

Whilst the wind was noticeable, especially affecting the shooter in the various standing classes (including FP and FPAS), it didn't seem to affect actual POI much, even with the .22s. I even managed to hit a couple of 1/5 scale Chickens set on the 100 yd line for the .22 UAS championship shoot-off!!! They were just tiny blobs even through the 6x scope. Definitely exceeded expectations with the Anschutz. Greatly helped by kdiver58's spotting.

So close!! I bet you'll see that International rating by the end of the season. You & kdiver58 make a good shootin' pair!
I noticed Matthew the bear killer in the advance & paint pic. He's one heckuva shot too!
Our favorite shooter sw282 was down with the epizoody so I know y'all probably missed his comic relief!!
