Does anyone have a source for obsolete rec. sights? I am looking for a Number 41. Thank you in advance.

I don't know if they're still around, but there used to one in Kansas called Ballentine's. He also made gun shows and had quite a selection of old sights of all kinds and scopes, easily the largest inventory of sights I've ever seen at a gun show.

What particular gun uses that sight?

I'll second Ebay but the hunt will be on, as they say.

I've had luck finding sights locally at gun shows. There was an older gentleman in the York Pa area who attended shows regularly and had quite the collection of sights for sporting rifles and also the old Lyman, Ideal, Marbles and other brands of aftermarket sights. He was known as "Bill The Sight Man". Unfortunately he passed a year or two ago. His widow sold his collection to another gentleman who now attends the shows.
I will look for the new owner and see if he has a Lyman #41 and if so will get his contact info and pass it on to you.

That's usually used on the Winchester Self Loader center fire rifles.
I have seen them mounted on the WinchesterModel 03 and 63 22rimfires also.
Winchester 95 perhaps.

Ken Bean was always a great source. Sad to see him pass on.
I did not know his business had been sold to another person. That is good news.

Other than that,,Ebay seems to be the place to look.
Gun shows,,I always look but pickin's is sparce.

Yes, Ken, not Bill. I think my memory failed me there. He always gave me his "Grey hair discount". And would take back anything the wasn't a right fit. I saw his "replacement" at the last York Tri County show a few weeks ago. Recognized the display boxes. I hope he does well with it.
