Source for Shield 9mm mags

"everything is on backorder at smith and wesson" i order 3 17 round m&p9 mags last week from the smith and wesson official site and 2 just now from 44 mag.com whichever one gets to the house first im cancelling the order for the opposite. i really hope 44mags do cause they are literally half of the price

I picked up 4 M&P 9 17 round mags at 44MAG.com - Wholesale Rifle and Pistol Magazines, they are OEM mags that fit perfect. $24.99 each

I usually buy S&W mags from Greg Cote, LLC...he usually has the best prices. I checked with him, and he has them on order, but doesn't have any yet. I am on a waiting list with him.

S&W did a great job of making the Shield available for purchase when they announced it...unusual for the gun industry...but sure wish they had the mags in stock as well.

Seems, so far, the only thing they didn't have a big enough head start on.

I suspect that S&W didn't expect the Shield to be such a huge success, demand so quickly. It will be difficult to manufacture enough mags to fill the Shield orders asap, and then market/distribute additional mags separately.

It seems like S&W always has problems with providing enough magazine inventory. I remember when I bought my M&P22 last year shortly after introduction, it was like pulling hen's teeth to locate spare mags.

I normally use 44mag.com and Greg Cote, LLC depending on which has inventory and the lower total price.

It still is if you are referring to the pistol 22.

Shield Mags

I bought a 9MM Shield last week, and spoke with the factory sales department today 5-7-12 at 1:30pm and was told that the Shield magazines just arrived, and are being packaged up, and should be available in about two weeks for purchase.

I ordered 2 last week from S&W over the phone. You can still place orders on the phone - but they pulled them down from the website store.

I was told to expect a 2 week wait, since they are on backorder
