Wife and I are off to the Cumberland Theater in Cumberland MD tomorrow to see a musical play of Monty Pythons Spamalot.
It's described as a new musical lovingly ripped off from the motion picture "Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
I've been a long time Monty Python fan and I figure that it'll either be a fun time or really lame.

Watch out when the French knight throws the rotting cow over the castle wall at King Arthur and then passes gas in his direction. I would suggest you sit back behind the 10th row in case the catapult goes awry!

After this experience you are going to owe your wife big time!

And there I'll be in a front row handicapped seat.

It's my wife's idea, she works for the senior center in town as a home health care aid and saw it posted.

It's not a new show, unless they've rewritten the one Terry Jones was instrumental in developing. I've heard it's hilarious, especially for devoted Python fans like me.

Have fun, Snubby, and give us a full report upon your return.

In the meantime, remember that "strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.....If I told someone I was an emperor, just because some moistened bink lofted a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!"

Funniest-movie-ever!

:D

I think a seminal point in the life of my three children and my nephew occurred in the last week of December 2002. We drove down to Miami to participate in the Orange Bowl youth sailing regatta. We left Christmas day after presents were opened and drove straight through to get there for check in the 26th. We had a suburban and a little bitty TV with a slot for VHS movies. I had given one of the kids Monty Python and the Holy Grail for Christmas. By the time we got to Miami, the kids had pretty much worn out the tape and memorized most of the movie :D They could not believe it was as old as it was! To top it off, one of them found a coconut at the hotel and cut it in half and for the rest of the week we listened to that ^*&% coconut :D
As a matter of fact, we found that tape a few days ago and watched it again!

The only bad thing about the play is that everyone in the audience knows all the best lines. Try not to sit in front of someone who says them out loud!

Are you suggesting that coconuts migrate?

Here's a taste: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ey0wvGiAH9g

Glad to hear Caj's kids loved it. Their parents obviously passed on an appreciation for off-the-wall humor. I can just hear the kids in the back seat roar with laughter at the line, "...I fart in your general direction!" I'll bet they shouted that line to each other all the way to Florida.

One of my favorite movies. I think I know most of the lines.................

I saw the play on Broadway back when it opened...I really enjoyed it, as did my wife who usually detests that type of humor.
