My ice maker ate one of those little towers that you screw a little part onto. I need to glue the two parts together, but I know some plastics are notorious for being difficult to repair. Does anyone have any experience/advice?

According to my wife you'll be needing a new refrigerator.

I told her to learn to fill ice trays.

Then the fight began.......

DG still has the same wife and 'frig. The trays are working fine... as long as I fill them. :D:D:D

I have tried epoxy on just about every kind of plastic and it works on some types and not on others. You can always give it a try but slower set is usually the strongest. JB weld may work but get the overnight set for maximum strength.

I used to fix refer liners and the glue usually had a lot of MEK to melt the plastic.

A glue type called Weldon #16 seems to be the hottest glue for plastic that I have used. Sort of the same as model airplane glue back when we made plastic models and the glue smelled of solvent.

If you use that type of glue it is still best to let set overnight for maximum strength as it melts the plastic.

You may also be able to do some reinforcement with a longer screw past the break or make an insert out of a hollow metal tube, wood or plastic.

I haven't seen what you're talking about, but couldn't you duct tape the foo out of it and screw right into the tape. I don't know what king of weight the screw has to hold. Maybe tape with some kind of wood or plastic splint. The cowboy way.
