I'm looking at the label on the end of a 15-3's box. I can figure out most of it pretty easily, but in the second row, there is a space marked "special features". Inside that box is the code "PG 84."

Any idea what that means?

CB - is that penmanship/ink color the same as the rest of the writing on the label?
I think I remember similar threads in the past where it was thought the FFL Dealer had recorded/received a gun in the log book and made notation on box label??
Or maybe it was the page that it was recorded when it left the Factory??

You might be onto something there. It does apprear to be a slightly different color of blue.

It may one of those things we'll never know.

I was hoping it had something to do with the grips. The gun has TT, TH, and smooth S&W Target grips. I don't believe the grips would be the stock ones. Still very nice grips though.

And it's a very nice 15-3.
