Special Order RM

I purchased this RM a while back, mostly because of the stocks, and good price. The gun was ordered for target shooting. It's owner wanted King reflector red post front sight with King112 wo rear sight. He asked for the gun to be sighted in at 20yd.,as specified by US Revolver Association of which Mr. Razzelle was a member. The best part was the request for the gun to be sent to Walt Roper for grips! I have researched the gun and it's history with very little results.The Razzelle family, two generations newer, had no knowledge of the gun,or great granddads use of it.USRA records don't go back to1937. Sad. Any way, I am happy to have it in my collection.

I bet some detailed, high resolution pics of that bad boy would have a lot of ageing reprobates drooling over their keyboards. Probably everyone else, too.

I don't understand your "Angry Face" emoji in the title. I'd be bouncing off the ceiling with joy if that RM were mine. You might be able to find some general information about Mr Razzelle from census records or some of the Ancestry.com-type services. There also some shooting records from those days in old NRA magazines as well as some of the other journals of those days. You have the most important thing... the gun itself with full documentation connecting it to him!

I didn't find a single person named Razelle or Razzelle in the Genealogy data bases. Quite a few Rozelles, one named Frederick C. Rozelle Jr. from Cape Elizabeth ME, who married a Ruth Anderson there in 1947. No other information provided.

As far as RMs go, that's a home run!

Very, very nice gun. The Roper angle is just fantastic.

Congratulation, that's a mighty fine revolver. I've wanted an RM for some years now, but I've never made it happen.

The idea that Mr Gagne likely had held that gun and made the grips just for it would be pretty exciting to me.

As most Roper owners know many times they can be pretty fickle on what gun they will fit well.

I think that will not be a problem for you

Are there any markings on the inside of the grips that would identify it with your RM? Many N frame Roper grips have S.W. 44 on the back. These I assume would not.

If there is a number on the back would you consider sharing it?

If it's a typo and you request a correction maybe Roy will correct the Ammunion used to sight it also ( At 20 yards using .357 Marnum ammunition )

Please be advised. Ancestry is an a containual up date of information. Were it mine, I would check every week. The information there is only available when DNA is done.. More people do it like every day. FYI

I did not realize that a Registered Magnum would letter as shipped to Walter Roper prior to shipment to the customer. Are there any others that letter as such?

The grips do have SW 44 on each grip. I can only surmise that the ordered grips fit Mr. Rozelle right off the shelf, or someone switched grips in the past.
