I was considering getting equipped to run some IDPA with my old 15-3.

Does someone have a line on speedloaders for it? And what about belt pouches and holster?

Same as any K frame 38/357. I think the HKS speedloaders call it #10, fitting since the definitive K frame is the 10. Leather may not be all that common now, but I bet both the holster and speedloader cases can be had from any decent maker. I am not up to speed on the IDPA rules, so would not be helpful on configurations that don't violate the rules.

Me either, I have never shot IDPA. Going this weekend with my Sig 226EE with what I have. Supposedly they are pretty loose on newcomers. I was looking for something for my 13y granddaughter. She likes (loves) the 15-3. I have brass and dies to reload it. I got a Walther PPK in 380 and ammo sucks for it right now. I can't find any anywhere.

And, I thought that the 15-3 would give me another division to shoot in one day.

Problem is, I don't have to foggiest clue where to even start looking for this stuff.

HKS Speed Loader #10 can be found easily at amazon.

HKS makes a medium size case holding two speed loaders too.

I'm thinking about picking up some Safariland speedloaders for my K frames.
I got a couple of N frame .44 Safariland speedloaders from a member here and I really like them.

I shoot IDPA/SSR.
First, you need a strong-side holster that covers the trigger.
Second, you need 4 speedloaders.
Third, you need holders for three of them, 2 in front of the holster and 1 behind.
Fourth, you need a good gunbelt.

I would take whatever you have that serves the purpose and go shoot an IDPA club match to see how you like it. You can also look at other rigs and see how serious you want to get. There is no need to try to "buy the perfect rig" before you even shoot a match.

I use a Safariland model 560-9 holster, Safariland Comp 3 speeloaders, and a Don Hume leather gun belt. My Blade Tech speedloader holders are excellent, but out of production.

Read the IDPA/SSR equipment rules carefully, and stay away from the skeleton holsters and speedloader holders, which are prohibited.

That looks pretty much like what I need, yes.

And that is my plan. There is a match this weekend my SIL invited me to go with him to (his first as well). I will be using my Sig P226 and my granddaughter may use my Walther PPK but I am unsure the PPK holster is legal. They are 5 shot strings and they said that you can take a penalty and start low ready if the holster isn't legal. I don't have a holster for the 15-3, its a range and nightstand pistol so I never needed one. If she is going to start with a penalty anyway, might as well let her shoot the 15-3 as its one of her favorite range guns (one of mine too) and she has quite a bit of time behind it. Don't need speedloaders for this weekend, there is no reload requirements for the stages, its supposed to be a BUG match anyway.

4wheelguns.com - Quality Products for the Competitive Revolver Shooter

4wheelguns.com - NM - IDPA Compliant Speed Loader Holder

Thats the DOPE I needed. Links, brands, somewhere to start!

As for ebay, sure there is stuff on ebay. But I would rather hear from gun guys what does/does not work, what is good and what is **** and not rely on bloated huge text on an ebay posting.

After watching a video from a PM someone sent me. I have a concern. I have target grips on the 15-3. That going to be a problem for speedloaders and IDPA in general? My initial worry is clearance to access the cylinder with the speedloader.

Wolfiesden,

Let me begin by saying I don't shoot IDPA, so I can't tell you anything about the holsters, etc. OTOH, I did shoot a lot of PPC with a couple of 38 revolvers and I learned a thing or two about speed loaders. I have range time with the HKS and Safariland (both Comp II and Comp III) and my decided preference is for the Comp III or the similar Jet Loader if they are legal or the Comp II if it can't have the longer handle. The spring loaded Safariland and Jet Loaders provided me with much faster, more fumble free loading. I now only use the HKS for my I/J frames and my Model 29 because I haven't been able to find Safariland loaders for them. Other people are completely sold on the HKS, so you might want to try both before you spend a lot of money on either. This is definitely a situation where personal preference rules!
