I've always used the HKS.
It's what work issued. I've never seen a need to change.

I have been using Safariland since they were introduced. They seem to be pretty indestructible. And they are easy to use and fast. I like the Comp ll for their size, but for competition the Comp lll might be more useful.
Another one that likes Safariland, it's what I use for my L, K and J frames.

For what purpose? Competition, concealed carry, night stand duty?
I prefer Safariland's spring-loaded design to HKS's gravity dependent one; Safariland also only requires you to align and push push versus HKS' load and turn the knob approach.
Both are good overall and will get the job done, though.

5 star tactical speed loaders look and function great. Only problem is they are noisy because of their metal construction. HKS are fine too.
But if you are really interested in unloading and reloading your revolver as quickly as possible you should consider having TK Custom cutting your cylinder for Moon Clips. Moon Clips are much faster than speed loaders. I can unload and reload my revolver as quickly as any semi auto with moon clips.

I'm new to speed loaders and have HKS for 45 Colt and Safariland Comp III for my 686. The latter are longer but I like their design and operation better than the HKS. Both types will work so it comes down to personal preference. Try out both types if you can. The differences will be obvious.

Comp 111 is what I use, They are pretty quick. I shoot with a guy that makes speedloader carriers its a pretty good combo

I've used the safariland speed loaders for my 357's and my 44mags. ....compIII is especially nice because they are easy to grip. But the best speedloaders ive used are the SL Variants out of Germany....unlike the other speedloaders you can adjust the bullet spread so they match your cylinder precisely. There is enough adjustment that you can make the same reloader fit a few different models of the same caliber and even different manufacturers. The problem now is that for some reason they haven't been available for the last year in the states.

When we had an informal PPC league going here years ago and speedy reloads were a part of the game, the biggest majority of shooters used either Jet™ loaders or Safariland™ Comp II or III loaders.
I personally have used HKS™ in a variety of frame sizes and calibers, but find them slower and much more cumbersome to use, and usually buy them for guns for which Safariland™ makes now loaders. So when it came time to accessorize my newly acquired Model 686, I just naturally bought 3 Safariland™ Comp IIs and never looked back. This is just my personal experience, but as Rick Hunter would say, "Works for me!"
