Speedloader holder for IDPA

Note "Proper Retention" in the IDPA RUles Glossary: The use of specially designed pockets, shirt pockets, upper vest pockets, ...is not permitted.

Use of the lower (side) vest pockets is permitted. I do that at times, myself, but it is posible to knock the loader out of a shallow strong-side vest pocket when drawing (oops).

Agree! (IDPA rules, pg 15, para D.3.)

Just remember that you can not carry a loader for use during the stage in your lower vest pocket "at times" unless "at times" is for the entire match. The new addendum to the rulebook forbids changing where you carry in the middle of the match.

3. Competitors may mix carry methods (one in a pocket
and one on the belt) but they must use the same method
of carry for the entire match. Changing their carry
method to fit the CoF will result in a FTDR.

So far, I have had few situations where I would have needed a third and in more than one case the penalty was smaller than a third reload would have cost.

If you have not fired the required minimum number of shots for the CoF and choose to stop rather than reload, this calls for the FTDR penalty, and is a specific example in the rules. On the other hand, if having engaged all targets with the required number of rounds rounds and simply missed, there is no FTDR required.

This and the "round dumping" FTDRs require a lot of effort by the SO, and are not always called when needed.

The new addendum to the rulebook forbids changing where you carry in the middle of the match.
True!

So you either carry all your speed loaders on your belt for the entire match or the extra one in your bottom vest pocket what do you do when you decide to use your vest pocket and then come to a stage where concealment isn't required? do you still have to wear your vest or can you opt not to carry the extra loader at any time during the match? I understand the rule but I have questions

This post got me off the fence. I had been trying to decide which speed loader pouches to order.
I just ordered a couple Belt Mountain IDPA compliant ones for my K Frame Comp III loaders.
