You guys are awesome! Thanks a lot! Ordered me 2 boxes and a couple other things....... :D

Hey Guys:

I have been looking for the ammo that BrianE mentioned as well, and, like Brian, I found that it was backordered everywhere. I finally found it "in stock" at the following website ($23.95 per box of 20). I ordered several boxes on Monday morning and received them today (Wednesday). Forewarning, though, that you have to fax in your driver's license (or other identification that indicates your age). Shipping, too, is a little steep (about $10).

As far as I can tell (which usually is not very far), Cabela's either doesn't carry the "fancy" Speer short-barrel (135-grain) .357 mag and .38 spec, or else they are totally out of it (with no backorder option). I'm looking forward to trying the short-barrel .357 mag rounds in my 340PD. I hoped to make it to the range earlier today, but, alas, work intervened.

Tried the Speer 135-grain .357 Mag "short barrel" ammo today in my 340PD. MUCH more comfortable than the full-power .357 Mag.

Yes. I've found that the difference between full power and SB is that full power 125s are unshootable (we're talking probably bruised bones in my hands, month and a half recovery time after shooting one cylinder), but SB is uncomfortable yet able to be shot accurately. My hands are back to normal in a couple days.

I've even had trouble with Winchester Silvertip 145's, supposedly one of the lightest .357 loads (this is with the rosewood grips on the M60 though). Gold Dot SB's made a world of difference, I have no trouble putting a whole box through it. It's a much better option than stepping down to .38+P. Very accurate also.
