Has anybody ever tested to see what kind of velocities this ammo has in a four inch barrel? I ask because it could be another good round to put in my rotation. Especially with there still be an ammo shortages in some areas. Thank you for any information guys.

I have not specifically tested the "short barrel" yet, but I did try the regular Speer Gold Dot's (+P) in both a 2" and 4" barrel by shooting into a line of water jugs. The 2" expanded, but not 100%. As you would expect, the 4" barrel got the velocity up and the resulting bullet shape was much more expanded. I would suspect that this same round designed for a short barrel would expand fully from a 2" barrel based on my two tests with the non-short-barrel rounds. Actually, I would like to find a box and try those short-barrel rounds in my 638 this fall. Later, B

The velocities should be the same, as it's the same powder and charge. the difference is the mouth of the JHP. The bullet itself is different, nothing else.
