Spider so big, I shot it

I hate widows, recluses, and any of the other nasty bite models.
Luckily, you really don't see those much in Houston. I don't think
I've ever seen a black widow here yet. There may be recluses around,
but they are not all that common.

I see a lot more spiders at my place up in OK. All kinds including the
hairy legged yard spiders. Most spiders and scorpions I'll stomp on
if they get in my living area.. But I don't mess with these. They don't
really have a bad bite compared to the bad ones, and they are kind
of interesting to watch. They seem to be pretty slow moving, and not
too aggressive. Lots of times they will just sit there and hardly move.
And if you walk through the woods, you will constantly walk into spiders
in webs between the trees. I take a stick to bat them all out of the way.
Luckily they don't bite you, but I still don't like them on me.

I hired these characters on as part time security guards.
I saw these two on the same trip, but a day apart. At first I thought
it was the same one that had moved a good bit in a days time, but
after looking at the pix, I could tell it was two different spiders.
These things can sling leg hair at you if they feel compelled. So I
don't get down and get my eyes close to them.

Tge way I view spiders is ....if I see it it dies. Outside, inside, whatever. I don't try to figure out what they are

Not a fan of spiders here either. I don't react well when I get bit so most of the time they end up dead if they're inside.

About a week or so ago I was outside and saw a cool looking spider that I figured I'd grab some photos of to try and identify it and upon coming inside I found more by the door. Got the camera, grabbed some shots (unfortunately I've really gotten into Macro photography so they get photo shoots and may live if a harmless type, at least outside) and came in to see what we had. War was quickly declared! Good thing I got the shot when I did because for now all visible ones are gone.

If you were thinking that was an immature Black Widow, I believe you were mistaken. I have some shots of those on another machine that I'll upload later. The leg/body relationship looks wrong for me, too. http://bugguide.net/node/view/1999

Now this is a spider, well actually two. They are "Camel Spiders". Troops in Afghanistan encounter them.

Theyre in America too. Pretty harmless one was crawling up a wall while I was photographing him until a medic hit him with MY sandal:rolleyes:

I shoot the big guys with rubber band guns... less fall out and less LEO's showing up at my door for discharging firearms in city limits

Those flinging hairs are no joke. They itch like heck!

I was trying to pick one up, and shazam! Itch city.
