Sport bcg

Hello, I've been lurking here for quite some time now. You've all have been very informative! I've learned a lot.
The question I have is I'd like to have an extra bcg available. Nothing special, just to keep on hand.
Any suggestions? Good idea? Or not necessary?

While it never hurts to have extra parts available, I don't really see the value in carrying an extra BCG. If one were to fail, you'd likely have other issues with the upper receiver. So, just swapping it out doesn't seem like it would be possible.

Of course, someone else might be able to shed some more light on this.

Thanks for the advice. Just thinking of contingencies. I have an extra charging handle for such an occurrence. I've always taken very good care of my firearms, but you never know!

I carry an extra bolt. It's a practice I started when shooting High Power competition. I never needed it, but I loaned it out a couple of times when other competitors broke an extractor or jammed an ejector.

You don't need a carrier. I've never seen one with a properly staked key break.

Extra bolt I can see, but not extra carrier. At some point, I would just get an extra rifle.

The charging handle makes sense. They are delicate and easily damaged if not handled properly. Also, they can be damaged without the rest of the gun being affected.

I have a spare semi-auto phosphated BCG. I didn't go out and buy it. I ended up with a spare. Never had to use it. It's in my thinned out spare parts box.

The reason some of us end up with a box of spare parts isn't because we intentionally buy spare parts. It's because we either are in the phase or ended the phase of trying out every darn part on the market that sounds cool. The reason I have a spare BCG is because I swapped to a Fail Zero Nickel Boron BCG.

Nope. I thinned out my spare parts box a few months ago. All I have are small spare parts for my rifles and that single BCG. I'm a bit AR-15 burned out.

I'm now looking at buying an AK-47. Too bad S&W doesn't make a M&P-47 Sport.
