got these a few month back, its supposed to be an airsoft replica's airweight M37 that comes with pinned barrel, non serrated wide trigger, new latch design, rubber grip, with this detail does it made it a true copy of the real ones?..i know.. why bother it with toy guns, am just curious..

To be honest it looks better than some of the stuff coming out of Springfield, and it doesn't have an IL!

It’s a perfect copy, except…

-S&W never offered rubber Magnas.
-The barrel pin disappeared around 1982, and the MIM thumb piece showed up in 1997. The “Airweight” copy on the sideplate didn’t exist then, either.
-The hammer shape is wrong and it and the trigger should be case colored, not blued.
-The sideplate seam is way too obvious. Maybe they copied a reblued gun!

It’s plenty good enough to get you killed if you pull that on someone with a real one. Welcome to the forum! :D

I thought all "toy" or air guns had to have an orange muzzle? This one looks realistic enough to cause some problems if you were carrying it.

I'm going to guess that PlasticFreak isn't in the US. Probably in a country where airsoft is as close as you can get to owning a firearm.

You may be right.
I recall a member from Japan I believe, that posted airsoft.
I was interesting the detail that is put into these guns.
Shameful that some countries don't allow citizens to own guns. :(

Will the grips off these airsoft pieces fit the real mcoys?

More like will the grips for the real McCoy fit these airsoft? :D (Rubber Magna's do sound appealing)

I agree that thing can be dangerous really quick, but I still want one...

I remember plasticfreak from before the software change over. If memory serves, he is a good guy who lives in a country with very restrictive gun laws. Which one escapes me right now.

To a lot of people, that airsoft copy is real convincing. Of course, S&W Chad is not most people. PlasticFreak, you have to understand that A lot of our board members are law officers and they are very worried about seeing one of those things in the hands of some idiot and forced to shoot. It is no uncommon for that to happen here. I believe I know you from the past and I know that your interest in these airsoft guns is genuine. I just wanted to explain why you may get some comments about those things on this board. It seams you are a brother in arms, even if you maybe can't have the real thing. It is good to see you back.

I think it's Thailand.
That is very realistic for it not being a real one- certainly would have fooled me if all I had was a quick look, but would have thought it a bit "strange" especially with the pinned barrel with newer features.

I think Plastickfreak is in Indonesia. (Welcome back! :)) I mess around with an airsoft when I am in Japan, trying to earn a living, which is most of the time:

I use it for chasing away crows from the tree in my backyard in Tokyo, and for practicing handgun drills occasionally.
And I mess around with the real deal when in the US. Here’s the long and the short of ‘em, just for the heck of it:
