Just a PSA to reloaders. Norma has LPPs in stock as well as SPPs.
They’ve had the smalls off and on but this is the first I’ve seen LPPs.
The LPPs are pricey.

I've been loading these Servicios Aventuras small pistol primers for some time now for 9mm loads. The price is right, but I've found that my Dillon 550 won't fully seat them and I get a lot of duds (they will usually fire on the second strike). If I seat them with my Hornady hand primer, they are 100% reliable, but it kinds of negates the advantage of a progressive press.

Thanks for the heads up.

Glad I bought a poop load of LPPs during Covid, when they were the most plentiful of primers. Since I have enough to last 2-3 of my lifetimes, I don’t buy unless they’re < $70 a brick.

I've gone through 3,500 and 80% of them I loaded on my Dillon. They've been working fine. I did have teething problems.

When I first tried them I thought they were junk. I got 40% misfires. Like you, I thought they weren't fully seated. I used a Lee Ram Prime to seat them and they worked.

But then I tested them from the Dillon in other guns and it was just one gun that would misfire, even though with my usual Winchester SPP that gun fired fine. But the strain screw was backed out a bit. A little tightening made them go off.

So they might be a little "hard". But I'm good with them now.

The funny thing is I check Norma's site all the time for the SA primers and lately they always have them. Their emails say "Back in stock!" and "Limited availability!" but I think that might be more marketing than reality.

I've heard that they work in revolvers, but I mostly load and shoot Sig P320 series autos and a P365. The striker doesn't impact as forcefully as a revolver. I've also tried them in a Springfield Armory Ronin in 9mm. Servicios Aventuras primers are priced low for a reason. On the plus side: They work well with my Frankford Arsenal Vibraprime when filling primer tubes and they feed well through my Dillon 550.

Norma’s are $49.95/K free shipping over $150 and no Hazmat fee.
