Springfield Armory's New Hi-Power

Springfield Armory today announced they are now producing their own version of the famed Browning Hi-Power.
Their version features forged steel parts, excellent sights, no magazine disconnect and a MSRP of $699.
I WILL be buying the first one I find for sale.

I was a little surprised, especially considering the price.

I like the looks, features and the MSRP. It's says it made here but what is their definition of "made"? If parts are manufactured overseas and assembled here is that made in the USA? Their stated MSRP isn't far from the Turkish clones we've been seeing.

I love to complain about the design and mechanics of the classic BHP and I can do that whenever asked however to the subject at hand, this is fantastic news and $699 MSRP? They are gonna sell a MILLION of these at this price, this is a shocking low price for what they are offering.

But all the trolls say it "..can't be done today!..." "..It would cost over a THOUSAND to buy a gun made like that today."

Dang! If I had to guess, I would have guessed it is Tisas who is actually making them, but maybe not! I like that you get a semi-custom Hi-Power for less than the cost of a Browning plus a trip to a gunsmith.

I'm hoping that they do end up doing different tiers loaded, TRP and especially a custom shop model.
And also, an aluminum frame model. Please, please, please!!
