Springfield Ronin 10

Looks great. Only thing that irks me about Springfield is I wish they would start under cutting the trigger guard! At least on the more tricked out models like this.

I have the 45 ACP version, but no experience with the 10mm. It's my only 1911 but I have no complaints. Seems well built.

I have one in .45 ACP that is my daily carry. I changed the mainspring housing to an Ed Brown arched housing with a removable magwell. I have several 1911's but this one is my go-to.

I've got a TRP and really like it. Only thing I don't like is that the trigger isn't adjustable and isn't great for a TRP. Might have to upgrade it. I believe that the Ronin is essentially a rebranded Range Officer Elite. I've had some time with the RO Elite 10mm and it's definitely a nice gun. Ran everything from light loads to hot Underwood ammo. Springfield makes a very good product for what you pay for it.

I am Jonesing for one of these badly-I have the .40S&W EMP's in the 3 and Champion and the Ronin would be a good addition.
Considering I have the S&W 610-3 it would of coarse make sense to add a 10mm 1911.
I just have to convince the Wife of my plan.

10mm and the ******* step child 40S&W were the Bren 10's answer to a never ask question! The original Norma 200 grain ammo had energy like God's lightning bolts, but to what purpose? Are we hunting run away school busses? The FBI adopted the 10mm in a knee jerk to the Miami shoot out and then had to go to the FBI load 155gr at about 1055fps so the average agent could control it, and that begot the 40 S&W. The early twentieth century 45 ACP seems to be an answered question! How much do I need to make bad people dead?

Love me some 10mm, and very much enjoy the Springer ronin aesthetically.

I looked at one the other day, seemed like a nice gun. I don't know who started the flat mainspring trend but that was the only issue for me. An arched mainspring with a flared magwell would be a must for my gun. Damned flat ones bite the lower right part of my hand and don't point just right exactly but it's an easy fix.

Mine came in yesterday; I ordered it direct from SA last October through their Pro Staff program. Looks well made for a production gun. I swapped the grips with some standard thickness, cocobolo/zebra wood grips from Wood Caliber. Taking it to work today to have the boys reduce the trigger pull to 3.5 pounds and then test it out at our indoor range. :)
