Nice report on your knife.

For future reference, the white ties on shipping boxes and appliances open easily if you find where they are joined, turn the plastic over and pull on the stub from the back side. 90% of the time no blade is needed.

And thereby taking all the fun out of it.

Right with you, chief38. These two Seki City K390 knives have put the rest of my collection on the shelf for good. They're all I've carried for the last 18 months or so. Don't see ever needing anything else. Endura and Endela are the Model names

Received the Native Chief Salt. It's a great knife. Definitely big, with a 4" blade.

I have carried a Dragonfly for about 30 years now.
On my second one .
Heavy haul / flat bed truck driver for 40 years and now retired.
My first had the serrated blade and built in nylon clip that was part of the handle.
Moved to the yellow salt version.
Went for the straight blade this time .
Liked that it was short enough that many places I went to did not see it as a weapon because of the short blade .
When you frequent military bases and other govt facilities that saves a lot of time and hassle.
Anything that it couldn't handle the Buck 112 stepped up .

I am a big Spyderco fan and own way too many. In fact I am going to start thinning the herd after hunting season. I live on and maintain a 192 acre farm. A knife is pretty much a necessity and used frequently. During the summer, I carry a Tasman Salt that works great in the garden, cutting rope and fertilizer bags. During hunting season, I carry a combo edge Delica. IMHO, this knife is miss named. It is anything but delicate. I consider the Delica to be Spyderco's best effort to date and if I had to keep only one pocket knife, thats what it would be. Many don't like the serrated edge but it excels at cutting straps, vegetable stalks and rope.

I studied MBC in the past and have several Spydercos designed around this concept. I consider MBC to be pretty worthless in today's world and these are the knives I will start culling after hunting season.

I always loved the DragonFly II - its a powerhouse of a little blade

Spyderco is great for testing out all the new and unusual steels.

My beater is an s110v spydie. The razor sharp edge wears down, but it'll hold a working edge for an extraordinarily long time. In a pinch, I've used it to install strike plates in a door jamb and door locks (chisel worked much better the next time).

I'm curious to try their magnacut blades, though a 15v knife caught my eye..

I'm about 30-40 minutes from their store outside Golden, CO. Stop in every once in awhile on motorcycle rides. Fun to look at though I prefer Benchmade, specifically the Adamas.

Not sure what part of the country you're in @Chief36, Spyderco has a 'Seconds Sale' every year the Saturday before Black Friday at their Golden location. Some of us crazy Folk line up a few days prior to the sale (camp out), we commune, sharpen knives or find other things to do but we hold each other's place in line for the sale if we need to go somewhere.

Typically the first five people in line get some swag from Spyderco, in 2022 we got a back pack with the merch you see below.

Spyderco offers deep discounts on knives and we fill our baskets with models we're interested in and then sort through them for any QC issues that we can't accept, give them back to the staff that put them back into rotation, it's great time to pick up models with different steels to give them a work out without having to worry about breaking them as these have no warranty though they are marked with an extra notch grind on the spine.

Collaborators like Ed Schempp usually attend and we get to talk to him about new concepts, I usually put on a feed for the Folks in line on the Friday before the sale and others have contests. Spyderco or Ed usually order us pizzas during one of the nights that we're there.

Below is my haul from last year, I went in with the intention to buy just one... but then my Director called me and let me know what my bonus would be for that year so I went off the rails due to lack of supervision... Ed Schempp was gracious enough to engrave the Rock Salt for me this past year.

I'm still working on the rotation but seem to have gotten stuck using the K390 Leaf Jumper
