Since an Adam12 thread was started I thought as a former firefighter I would start one for Emergency.
Anyone catching the reruns on ME TV, they run Emergency right after Adam 12.
I remember when this was new and fresh back in the 70's, we would all make sure we were in the station on a Saturday night to partake in the new adventures of Johnny Gage,Roy Desoto and the Firefighters of Station 51.
If you're interested and were an avid viewer and fan Google the LA County Fire Museum and find out where the Station 51 Engines and the Squad are today.
Some very interesting follow of things after the show went off the air.
Enjoy and share your firehouse Johnny and Roy stories.:o
I do enjoy the old reruns!

We never missed an episode.
Due to Emergency my station did get into rescue and our first rescue was a 1976 Dodge like Squad 51, only difference was ours also had a pump, some 1 1/2 attack line and a booster reel. Did we follow Emergency, to a certain extent but our rig was also yellow not red and was numbered Rescue 5-4.

I am about to finish season 4 on netflix. Don't forget Chet Kelly harassing Gage at every turn.

The actor who played Dr. Joe Early, Bobby Troup, wrote the song Get Your Kicks On Route 66. He was married to the actress who played nurse Dixie McCall, Julie London...who was a well regarded recording artist.

I really enjoy the show and can remember when it first aired. Engine 51 used to be a "convertible."

Let's not forget the lanacane and the D5W.

Just to add to your great post London was formerly married to Jack Webb who was the producer of that show!

Yes, that was all part of the Jack Webb production family.
All the characters of Adam12 and Emergency did do cross over cameos on the other shows.

Fireman Mike Stoker was hired as a member of the cast because he had a SAG card, was a qualified firefighter specialist engineer and Emergency! was required by the city to have someone qualified to drive the truck. He still worked his shifts for LACoFD during filming which is why he is seen on camera less than the other cast. He retired from the department with the rank of Captain.

Just watched an episode where the actor who played Mr. Takagi from Die Hard played a Rampart hospital administrator named Mr. O'Brien. I was not expecting to see Mr. Takagi as O'Brien. Dixie was feuding with him about budget cuts.
