I posted this in the concealed carry section without much traction so it was suggested I try here.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a CCW class / instructor in the St Louis area? I have looked into several but do not know anyone with personal experience with individual instructors. Some of the classes are 35 to 40 people, not what I am looking for.
Thanks

You should deffinetely go to John Ross's class. If you can't find hes contact info, PM me and I'll dig it out for you.

Since you can now carry concealed without a license why do you want one? So you can carry in other states?

I took an 8 hour course which was a complete waste of time. The most important thing I got out of it is the legal ramifications of pulling the trigger. Whatever happens at least two people's lives will be changed forever. Yours and the perp's. The smartest thing the instructor said all day was, "Every bullet comes with a lawyer attached."

Sorry I'm not of any help. But it did check the box that MO wanted checked.

In Missouri, the new permit less CCW will not start until Jan 1, 2017 I'm told. In the greater KC metro area & St Louis metro areas... anyone who is carrying concealed without a CCW permit is going to be arrested & prosecuted. Both areas have police chiefs & prosecutors who have tried & are still trying to get their respective jurisdictions to be exempt from any legal CCW by non law enforcement adults. If they could they would institute the worst California, New York , Mass & New Jersey type anti gun laws for both their areas & the whole state. Both the KC daily paper & I'm told the St Louis paper support them in doing that.

also, a Mo. CCW permit allows you to carry CCW in many states that reciprocate with Missouri, I know of none that will allow us to constitutionally CCW without a permit...

VOTE in the election... the next president will select at least one US Supreme Court Justice & maybe as many as 4.

Join the NRA, we need you now more than ever. We the NRA aren't perfect... but by far, we are the most effective voice for firearms owners that there is.

Top Gun in Arnold offers in house classes. So does the Bar-b-q/shooting range by the old Shooting Systems. Heck, Bucheits in Herculaneum even offers classes.

Number of people in class will also dictate price. As was said above, John Ross would probably do a one-on-one class for you, but it won't be $100.

Why not? Training is always good. Nothing has ever been won with ignorance. Never pass up an opportunity to learn.

Yes, the current STL police chief is not doing a good job IMO. And the paper, St Louis Post Dispatch, is nothing but a liberal bag of trash I would not wrap a dead fish in.
