I have a M&P 40 full size... apex trigger FSS installed already... and im thinking of replacing the factory Black barrel with a Stainless steel Storm lake barrel... Really just for a change of look to the gun itself.. does anyone think it will have an adverse effect on its performance

thanks guys

If you are not In need of superior performance going with the storm lake barrel is a waist of money. Just buff out the factory barrels as it is stainless and will look great buffed out.

If you going to change to something stainless, use the KKM Precision. They use the newer design, and ship same/next day when ordered from their website.

It improved the lock-up on all my M&P's, and are supposedly more accurate. Not good enough to know, but they have less slop when in battery.

I have a stainless 9mm conversion barrel for my full size .40. It is every bit as accurate at the factory 40 barrel. Only put about 1000 9mm through it, but not a single hiccup, jam, ftf, fte etc. Even when mixing brands, weights and bullet types in a single mag. Guessing the SL .40 replacement barrel would perform as well. If you like the looks of a stainless barrel, and want a simple drop in barrel, I do not think you'd be disappointed. That said, buffing the OEM barrel is a very good, economical option. JMHO.

Be well.
