I just purchased a 66 no dash 4in revolver. This is my first stainless how do I care for it? Can I use Flitz as I do on the nickle revolvers. I will get some pictures up when I have a little more time. Thank you flimo on the picture info. J

Yes, Flitz or any mildly abrasive polish will work fine. The nice thing about stainless is that you can always restore it back to its factory appearance, whether it is over- or underpolished.

stainless

Thank you Alan. The revolver looks unfired now if my computer skills will come thru I will work on posting pictures. J

jhde69, the nice thing about stainless guns is they don't need a lot of cosmetic care. If you want to keep your M-66 looking clean you can use a led-away cloth to remove any carbon build up. Generally just a lite rub down is all that is needed. If you want to polish you stainless guns, Mothers Mag Polish works wonders. Just apply a small amount with your finger then buff off with a clean dry 100% cotton towel. Work in stages until you get the shine you want.

Renaissance Wax

Renaissance Wax works real good for me on stainless, nickle & blue.

Just a quick question. I polished my 686 years ago and now I want to return it to the original finish. What should I use to accomplish this?

There are threads on the Forum about using Scotchbrite pads from coarse to fine, followed by a paste polish - I have one bookmarked but don't have it handy.
