Thank you all. This particular shop was fat with S&W semiautos today. Two that really stand out where 4013TSW no rail, 1 spare magazine $599, 459 LNIB $525. Others that were nice 3953TSW with box & 1 spare mag $375. 439 w/4 10rnd mags $300, 457 w/1 spare mag $350 if I recall correctly

4013TSW at $599 maybe a bit on the high side (my ceiling w/b $500)
459 LNIB at $525 about right - depending on mags may be low
3953TSW w/box at $375 a bargain if in decent shape (Early 7rd or Late 8rd? Rail?)
439 w/4 x 10rd mags (??? - Factory mags were 8 or 9rd - 10rd w/b aftermarket) but at $300 in decent condition would be a buy
457 at $350 would also be a buy in good condition (mags same as late 4516 with black follower)
And if they negotiate prices buy all. Photos if you go back?

ACEd, 3953TSW is in great condition (minor handling marks, slight fading on etching) with rail and two 7 round magazines plus original box.

My bad gun is model 469 not 439. No box just gun and 4 magazines.

The 3953TSW is a steal. The 457 is a very good price.

I'd find it hard to leave either in the case.

The CS9D is another steal.

3953TSW 7rd Notched Grip DAO with rail is an odd duck - worth a further look. Photo of pistol and box end label if you happen back there. It appears the owner doesnt think much of metal SW 2nd & 3rd Gen pistols, esp DAO - At that price I may be interested - if you arent, PM me.

As I recall the early 3953TSW with the 7rd mags and notched grip MSE prefix circa 1997 did not have rails (Product Code 104540). There was a second group or 3953TSW 7rd TDM prefix early 2000 also mostly if not exclusively without rail.

The Rails came in along with the Loaded Chamber Indicator with the later 3953TSW 8rd with the normal grip configuration circa Mid to Late 2000 and continued with and without rail (holes absent or plugged) thru 2013 Product Codes 104541 & late pistols 404541 (including Houlton, ME - S/N on right side, UCT, UCV, UCU prefixes) (Prod Code 404541 2004-2013 maybe Special Order or maybe surplus?)

469 at $300 Still a Buy - 4x10rd mags may be aftermarket or at least after high cap mag ban - I believe original factory mags would have been 12rd but its not a pistol I am very familiar with - But regardless of mags, at $300 in decent condition, Grab it. If they are SW factory mags Grab it ASAP for $300 - 4x10rd 69xx SW mags are probably worth $50 ea in restricted states.

I had a pre rail 3953TSW, which was ANIB when I got it. Which is why I could never bring myself to carry it. I sold it in 2023 shortly before we moved. I also bought a later 3953TSW shortly after. I kind of wish that I hadn't sold the pre rail gun. The pre rail 3953TSW and my pre rail 3913TSW have MSE prefixes. I carry the 3913TSW daily.

There were some later 3953TSW guns available here and there as late as 2017/18. A large dealer near where my son lives in SC had some on their site. Living in MA at the time, it wasn't possible to import them or I would have bought one.

If I still lived in MA, I'd drive down to CT to look at the one for sale.

Pre ban 12 round OEM mags are probably worth more than $50.00 in restricted states.

Not sure where your interests may lie, but just a couple of observations:

The 4013TSW was made both without rail (1997-1999 - MSE, MSF, TDN prefixes mostly) and with rail (1999-2007+ beginning around TDS prefix in 1999 plus a lot of Vxx and Bxx prefixes). There are also multiple variants, some decock only, some with Night Sights, some with match marked frame, slide, & barrel (Ca Dept of Corrections and others), some late pistols with no rail and holes plugged with plastic rivets. The most common Product Codes were 104441 (early no rail) and 104444 (late w/Rail) but there were multiple 148xxx and 149xxx LE contract Special variants.

The 4013TSW (and 4053TSW, 4056TSW) used a 9rd blue follower double stack mag (different from the single stack 8rd 4013 non-TSW mag with red follower). They will accept the 11rd 4006 mag with spacer.

The 459 would have come with a 14rd mag but should accept the standard 15rd 5906 mags which are still available occasionally.

The 3953TSW 7rd variant will accept the CS9 mag with the finger rest and vice-versa though the bases are different. The 3953TSW 8rd variant uses the standard 3913 mag variants and should accept the odd 7rd 3913 Lady Smith metal base mags.

The 469 will probably accept the 6906 12 rd mags (can not verify as I dont have a 469/669 pistol)

The 457 mags are the same as the common 7rd 45 black follower mags used in the 7rd 4513TSW, the late 4516-2. The earlier Orange and Yellow follower 4516 & 4516-1 mags are slightly different but may work.
