Whereas there has been a resurgence in popularity of the venerable Hi Power, perhaps the folks over at S&W should throw their hat into the ring and produce a Hi Power. I’m betting that they could do a pretty good job. Make it available in stainless and perhaps also offer the shortened Detective slide!

Stainless would be a first. Browning /FN never made one, and I don't think any of the clones do it yet.

After Browning stopped making the Hi Power, I wanted to find a stainless version for a shooter so I wouldn’t ruin my Brownings . I found that Tisas made one in SS and ordered one.

It’s a really nicely made Hi Power (very nice fit and finish), and has a good trigger. Decent price at the time. I bought it about five years ago, and haven’t seen them around since, so I’m not sure if they still make them. I put a set of Hogue stocks on it, as the ones that came with the gun were uninspiring. The Hogue’s are nice.

I have two words for you...............Hard Chrome

I agree. I like Armalloy in Ft. Worth, TX. But I recall a firm in Meadville, PA area that did hard chrome too. Just a thought.

Yeah. I'd have thought if you were going to make one in stainless, it would be somewhat polished. My Mk III Browning is hard chromed, they called it "Silver Chrome". Looks just like the one in dmar's picture except for sights and hammer. Mine also has Hogue grip panels.

I had a factory stainless hi power in the early 2000's. It had a gold trigger. They did makes them.

If you want something to look at, a stainless Hi Power is fine.

If I had to shoot it, I wouldn’t give you a nickel for a truckload of them. Been there.

A Cajunized CZ75B is a MUCH better shooter.

Are you sure it wasn't hard chrome? Are you sure it was Browning? My sources say FN never made a stainless Hi Power.

Browning never made a stainless steel Hi Power. They did offer a Mk III with a hard chrome finish in both 9mm and .40 S&W in the 1990's. The one I posted above is such a pistol, it has the gold trigger, and that one is a .40S&W version.

Tisas stainless Hi_power, worked over considerably by me.
