I have a 1972 model 67, shown here a few weeks ago.
http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-re...67-1972-now-have-some-detailed-questions.html

It has the stainless steel hammer and trigger used the first few years. (or shorter)
It was first used in the model 66. Later S&W switched to Flash Chromed ones.
The Standard Catalog says that the 66 was offered with .375 or .400 wide hammer.
My question is, was there a .400 wide hammer from the start and was that one a stainless steel one?
Thus marked with an S.

(when yes, does anyone has one to spare?)

SS Hammers and Triggers

Try Gunbroker. Magnum Mike has a lot of that stuff. I got a .375 flash chromed hammer from him a while back. Pretty sure he had .400 ones on there too. Hope I was of some help.

I am sure he has it but I wondered if there was a .400 wide stainles steel one in stead of a Flash Chromed.
First know if it exist at all.

Don't know. Actual stainless was only used on early guns. This guy will let you know what is available and if he has it. I have seen stainless ones on there before. Good luck.
