I was wondering if they made a steel charging handle, or if one could possibly be cut down modified to fit inside the 15-22? I think the charging handle is a little flimsy......... thanks Phil

check ot the classifed section belt fed makes an extended steel charging handle for the 15-22,
This is just an extension of the latch. The handle itself is still plastic, because it is still the original handle. I think the OP wants an entire aluminum handle like a standard AR15.

They don't exist, yet. Maybe one of the extremely talented people on this forum will make one eventually.

Well im taking machining classes so hopfuly by the end ill beable to make my own. THere pretty simple. I just dont have any of the tools. You think its possible to cut an exsiting aluminum one to spec and drop it in?

Anything is possible... just depends on how well you can machine it to the same specs.

wahoo!!! when are they coming to stores? Great work. I think all of us would be wanting one of those charging handles.

Unfortunately I have no plans to mass produce them at this time. I had posted on another forum and was told it was a bad idea because it would cause too much wear on the polymer upper. There were only about two people who were interested and said they would pay $25 tops for one. At that price its not worth my time or effort. Maybe when I finish a few other projects I'll try to make a few but the numbers would be limited.

yeah, i'd have some concerns about sliding metal on plastic myself... should get creative with the handle portion so it looks like something that isn't stock.. a little styling could increase value on handle enough to make it profitable.

The best mods should look like it came that way, there'd no need for a gaudy off the wall charging handle design.
