Steve Irwin Nature Fakery

McFact #2: 79-year old Stella Liebeck was not driving in a car when she was injured. In fact, she was not driving at all. She had gone with her grandson, Chris, to take her son, Jim, to the airport. On the way home, Chris pulled into a McDonald's drive-thru for breakfast. He parked the car so she could add cream and sugar to her coffee. Here's what happened next: Because the car had no cup holders and a slanted dash, Stella testified that she put the cup between her knees and removed the lid. As she did so, the slick styrofoam cup flipped backwards, dumping the scalding liquid into her lap and saturated the cotton sweatsuit which she was wearing.

And an instant brazilian..LOL

Chilled reptiles or not, he taught whoever would listen about the creatures in question. I mean, if I was educating the masses about a deadly reptile, I think I would want slower ones, too.

Shouldn't criticize the deceased, especially when they were such a positive influence....its just bad juju, imo.

You obviously know nothing about the facts of the case.

Or hope WE don't.

Well, well, Amici. I wish you had pointed out what I said that was so freakin' wrong. I also did not hope that no one else knew anything about the case; and, perhaps...just maybe, I might know a heck of a lot more about the case than you think.

I said that she sued McDonald's because she was burned by their coffee, she did.

Did you want me to go into exact details of how she (her lawyers) based her case on a question of what temperature coffee should be served at...it's coffee...it's hot...it's supposed to be...she was burned b/c of her own negligence...the coffee cup 'disclaimer' stated that it was hot. It was an example......you want to have a detailed discussion of this...start a thread about it.

I think "dont try this at home" pretty much sums it up. Could add, "bc you will die"...I guess even dumbazzes would understand that, and if they don't, how did they manage to even turn the tele on?

There are a number of people who think they know how to handle snakes. If they see someone handling a snake they have no experience with, they can be misled into thinking this particular snake is easy to handle, just like all the other ones they have previously handled.
The general public should not try this at home, but those "with experience" are liable to take risks.
This not only applies to snakes, but to other dangerous things.

If you don't mind, I would respectfully like to agree to disagree.

Go for it.

The facts proved otherwise.

As proven by the ultimate fact: The jury held otherwise.

Makes sense to me. His knowledge and enthusiasm were a joy to watch. I'm not particularly interested in production details.

Hell Fire Boys,

Did 'she' file a suit and lose a jury trial in court? Did 'she' have her suit dismissed? Or did 'she' never file a suit. Maybe 'she' dropped her suit and settle out of court?

Amici, you read like a first year law student...what gives?

plus small kids seem to like the show!

A better choice to pick on might be Marty Stouffer he has been accused of staging his wildlife filming, etc. and is still alive and still making money from his films, which I beleive are all done with north american animals.
(no bear/cougar caliber controversy or bear vs. taser controversy that I have seen

Well, I actually read. You obviously don't. Hence your impression.

From the top:

1. "Did 'she' [sic] file a suit?" OBVIOUSLY. How else would she have received a jury award?

2. Did she lose? Obviously NOT. See above.

3. "Did 'she' [sic] have her suit dismissed?" Again, clearly not. See # 1.

4. "Did 'she' [sic] never file suit?" Again, see ## 1-3.

5. Maybe 'she' dropped her suit and settle out of court?" Again, see ## 1-3.

All of which was set forth in each of the three (3) links provided, as those who actually availed themselves of the links know.

We now return to the thread in progress.

First of all sparky read who posted the coments above and direct your response to them. If you want to chastise me-do it for something I did...........***hole

Some of the stuff he did creaped me out. It was almost as if he was daring the gods for something to happen. Sure enough it did.

Anyone see the episode where Steve Irwin goes thorough the McDonald's drive-thru, gets a cup of coffee and then pours it right down? It was faked--the coffee had been chilled.
