It would have been nice to see the NRA guy inspect the gun to demonstrate that it was unloaded and then not point it at the other guy a dozen or more times.

Do as I say, not as I do?

You both better look at it again! First, you assume he did not clear the gun off camera. Second, if you watch closely, he may have swept across the other individuals body once, momentarily, while holding the gun flat in the palm of his hand. Other than this the gun was displayed for the benefit of the camera and was always pointed across, in front of the other man, or definitely more toward the camera, but not at him. The only one he swept was himself when he rotated the revolver vertically to show the serial number on the butt.

The revolver was never cocked (it's single-action), he never held it in a firing position, never placed his finger on the trigger. It was an historic discussion of the gun and it's use as a movie prop. It was not a dissertation on safe gun handling or marksmanship.

Lighten up and quit being so self-righteous. For all you know the gun is a De-Wat!

He got the ammo thing wrong. .45 S&W will fit in the .45 Colt chamber. The .45 Colt will NOT fit the S&W! The Colt is too long.
This is the reason the U.S. dumped the S&W.

Sounds like some forum folks have a bit too much starch in their boxers:rolleyes:
