STILL USING ANTIQUE TOOLS?? I STILL DO ON OCCASION. .

I have my father's old wood bodied plane. Rescued it out of my folks house after he passed. Was in sad shape. Resurfaced the bottom using silicon carbide paper and a surface plate. Completely disassembled, cleaned and had a lot of work on the blade. Stoned the blade to 17 degrees and put a micro bevel on the blade. Shavings you can see through. Frank

I've got 2-3 push drills and use one of them fairly often for pilot holes in wood. The other two I bought because they still had the bits in them which are worth more than the drills. I don't think I've got more than $10 in all three.
I think a lot of them were used by residential phone installers when things were still wired because my best one says Western Electric.

My Great Grandad had one of these.

I recently acquired several Diston saws that belonged to my Father-in-law. They have some rust on them so I plan to clean them up and hang them on my shop wall. I also have some of his old hammers and axes.
