Stock serial numbers

Were the stocks on semi autos such as the Model 39 have the serial number impressed on the underside of the right stock?

Don't remember any serial number on the stocks of my 39-2, but that was a long time ago. I know there are none on my 439's stocks.

I don't think so. They weren't individually fitted like on revolvers.

I've never seen any S/N's on Model 39 grips nor I have ever read anything that indicated this was done.

Mr. five O, on the 39, it was a flat piece of walnut with two holes drilled in it. No fitting req., slap them on and send down the line.
