Went down there this morning with "THEO" (The Old Lady)
and saw this sign on the door. I guess something is wrong
with the backstop and they said it may be a few weeks.

We hung around for about 1/2 an hour, No Joy. Went
to breakfast instead. Nothing on the Website.

They can close the whole thing, permanently, as far as I'm concerned.

I go to the range to shoot, not have guns pointed at me.

The last time (and I do mean the LAST time) I shot there, within the space of five minutes, I was swept by the guy in the stall next to me, and then saw three guys yelling at each other in Serbo-Croatian while wrestling over a loaded Remington 870. The idiot behind the counter took not the slightest notice of any of this.

Nor do I go to a range/gunstore, to see the counter help's ne'er do well friends hang out and try their Andrew "Dice" Clay act. If I want to hear drooling imbeciles loudly run through their list of racist and misogynistic "jokes", I'll go to a function put on by the BATFE. I go to the range to shoot, not attend the "Good Old Boy's Roundup".

The current "management" needs to be replaced with a higher form of life, Australopithecus perhaps.

I've heard recent rumors that the Stonewall Range that's between Akron and Cleveland Ohio MIGHT BE FOR SALE!!!!!

The more recent history of the Public Shooting Crowd was kinda THE WILD WILD WEST TO ME.

I have not been there in some time.

Many LEO'S, Air Marshal's, DEA Agents, The Major Hospitals Security Teams, and US Marshal's shot there in the past I know.

I had taken a couple classes there at the PRIVATE RANGE also.

If they POSSIBLY HAVE A BACKSTOP PROBLEM, it would be from NOT PAYING ATTENTION to what

might be going on out there, Caliber, Armor Piercing, who knows.

They shot heavy stuff there, 12 gauge 00, big rifle calibers also. Quite noisy at times.

Anyone else go by the Stonewall Gun Range/Store in Broadview Heights, Ohio? It's off of Rt 82.

Is the Gun Store closed too?

What's the Scoop?

Does Diane still Manage the place?

Most of such range closures are due to stupid actions by gun owners. Our range was closed for the summer because someone unknown shot thru the backstop with a center fire rifle even though it was clearly marked .22Rf only. It is such ignorant acts that make the antis job easier in taking our guns away.
Gun ownership demands respect for others, the power of the gun and how their actions will be seen by others.

Hey Gaffer,

Well put. Although I may have used the term "Inconsiderate".
We all need to be "Ambassadors" these days. We may have to
be the "Group of like minded individuals" who have to deal with
the whole "Can't Fix Stupid" thing.

God Bless,

/Dan

Most of such range closures are due to stupid actions by gun owners.
When the people in charge of the range make ABSOLUTELY no effort to supervise the operation of that range, those stupid actions become FAR more likely.

The last time I shot at Stonewall, I suspect that somebody could have fired a Lahti 20mm anti-tank rifle on the range and the person behind the counter wouldn't have even looked over their shoulder.

I was informed by someone I trust that the problem was caused by lack of normal maintenance. Lead built up and caused the backstop to collapse under it's weight and took a steel support beam in the wall with it.
