I was in a cabelas store near me today and would like the opinion of some of you.
Why do they have to have or think they have to have that awful country music playing all the time. Or why does any chain store do this. Man that stuff just drives me up a wall.

Cater to your clientele. I'm not a fan of country either but I know if I walk into Bass Pro Shops I know what to expect.

Look at the people in Cabelas. Not many Slayer fans about.

Now I might be enticed to spend a little more money there if they played Rammstein.

One of my favorite GM stores is Tractor Supply. The only complaint I have with them is that god-awfull racket they think is music. I hated that crap twenty years ago when I worked and played in Nashville and it aint changed a bit..........B.

In most of these places you're at the mercy of whatever age group from the surrounding area that particular store selects the majority of its employees. Those employees will most likely select the music they like to hear, and if they ain't in your age group, the store music is probably not going to be among your top 40.

I like the music when I go into the local Bass Pro. They often play several of my favorite bands.

On one recent trip I heard Cross Canadian Ragweed and the Derek Trucks Band back to back.
Two totally different types of music, but each great in their own way.

Unfortunately, you don't hear good music like that on the radio nowadays.
