Early mall-ninja weapon. That's where the grenade launcher was mounted.

It could have been where a Thompson forward pistol grip was mounted- very handy for shooting around corners while staying behind cover. Course, you can only shoot around corners to the LEFT. If you have the sideplate, check it for holes for the right-corner grip.

I have trouble remembering some of the bars I was in, too.

Lee, Elkhart's was a good place to crawl away from... My Grandfather's camp was only 2 1/2 beers away....

If you wanted to mount that frame to the wall and not have it easily removed or have exposed fastener heads, that's exactly the way you would do it....
